"Healthy mind in a healthy body" is our philosophy that is done with much fervour and passion through sports activities. Team spirit and desire to give the best performance are our watch words. The school comprises of sprawling playgrounds for outdoor games and state of art indoor sports complex.

Participating in plehora of activities, both intellectual and physical to provide opportunities to identify talents and develop skills, taking learning beyond the confinement of classrooms through various club activities. The House System fosters a sense of collective responsibility and boosts esprit de corps.

1. Aptitude test for class X was conducted on 8Apr, 2016 under the supervision of Dr, Chand Trehan, renowned Psychologist and Counselor.

2. Students from Classes I to XII participated in ‘Expression Series’ on 13 and 14 April, which was carried out in the form of articles, poems and drawing on the life of Dr. B.R Ambedkar.

3. Library week was celebrated from 18 Apr to 25 Apr with an objective of inculcation reading habits and enhancing various linguistic skills amongst the students.

4. On 29 Apr, 2016 34th AWES Raising day was celebrated with patriotic fervor . The day commenced with the special assembly being conducted by Bhagat Singh House. Various co-curricular activities like poem recitation, display your talent and Rangoli Competitions were held. Besides This Awes also webcasted- AWES digital library, launching of AWES website, address by new Managing Director of AWES Maj. Gen Sunil Chandra VSM (Retd) which was witnessed by the staff and the students of the school. Dr. Renu Gupta, Principal APS Damana applauded the children for their ardent efforts and also announced the school Mission statement which reads-“ The school strives to provide a value driven robust, transparent and safe environment for the ‘Holistic development’ for the students to emerge as the future ready school.”

5. Technology day was celebrated on 13th May, 2016 during which students participated in various activities like-framing of report on the topic “My innovations in technology, presentation making competition and a workshop for students of class X and XII on the topic “Information Security awareness “by Mr. Shailendra Kishan Sharma, assistant Director Technical and Mr. Sunil Kumar from National Institute of Electronics and Information technology.

6. On 28 July, Paryavaran day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm. On the occasion, several saplings were planted in the school premises by NCC cadets.

7. Investiture ceremony was celebrated on 30 July, 2016. The newly appointed school council was entrusted with faith and hope. The chief guest on the occasion Brig B.S Bisht, SM chairman led them to the oath taking ceremony and motivated the leaders to be responsible and humane.

8. A motivational session was organized on 9 Aug, 2016 for classes XI and XII. The session was conducted by Maj NB Metyal of 21 JAT Regiment. The resource person laid emphasis on all the aspects related to armed forces and counseled the students to opt a healthy and challenging life.

9. On 11 Aug, 2016 a special assembly was organized on Child labour Day during which a series of activities –skit, poem recitation and speech was delivered by the school children with an intend to foster the world wide movement against child labour.

10. On 12 Aug, 2016 Independence day was celebrated with Patriotic fevour and gaiety with the title “Jashan-e-azaadi”.

11. On 15th Sept, 2016 Teachers day was celebrated to celebrate the birthdate of the second president of India, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. The student of class XII organized a special program. The occasion was graced by the presence of Mrs. Poonam Bisht Chairperson FWO Chenab Brigade and Principal Dr. Renu Gupta.

12. Students of APS Damana Visited Government Women College Gandhi Nagar Jammu for the participation in science exhibition on 3 Sept,2016

13 A two day long workshop on Assessment of Speaking  and listening (ASL) skills was attended byb Ms Neeru Devi and Ms Jyoti Raina (TGT) English which was held at Jodhamal Public School.

14A special assembly was conducted on 9 Sept, 2016 on the occasion of "Beti Bachao Beti Padao" to generate awareness and promote the education of girl child.
15 A special assembly was conducted on 19 Sept to celebrate " Hindi Divas". Students of various classes presented poems and speeches highlighting the importance of Hindi language.

16. A special assembly was held on 1Oct with great zeal and deep reverence to celebrate the "World Elder's Day". the program comprised of speeches and poem recitations by the students to express their reverenvce towards elders.

17Swachh Bharat Campaign was launched from 3Oct-7Oct, to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi's concept and urge about cleanliness and healthy environment.

18Two NCC cadets of APS damana participated in Thal Sena Camp 2016 held at Delhi.

19 Students of APS damana, attended a briefing session by JKMUN on research Programme based on historical backgrounds of countries held at JK Public School on 6 Oct, 2016.

20 Students of APS Damana participated in Avashkar quiz competition on 7 Oct,2016.

21 Students from APS Damana participated in the final session of J&K Model United Nations    
    2016 (JKMUN 2016).

22 Inter school Sparathon Indoor Cricket (Boys) championship was held at KC Sports Club on 24      Oct- 5 Nov 2016. The school team qualified for quarter final.

23 Children’s day was celebrated wit great zeal and fervor on 11 Nov, 2016.

24 The Scholastics book fair was held within the school premises from 17 Nov to 19 Nov,2016.

25 237 students from classes IV to X participated in the green Olympiad conducted by Teri.

26 ‘One Nation Reading together’ activity was held on 25 Nov, 2016 to celebrate Reading day.

27 A motivational play for classes VIII – XII was being witnessed which was enstaged by Mr.    
     Lucky Gupta.

28 Earth day was celebrated by S.Sc and EVS department on 22 April, 2017

29 A historic moment was created in APS damana  on 3 may, 2017as Vikrant Mahajan founder of superpositivity movement held an activity of Longest Bicycle Relay Race in the school. The activity was for  the Guiness World Record.

30. Inter house display board competition was held on 19 July,2017.

31.Investiture ceremony for the silver jubliee year was held on 29th july,2017
32.   The annual administrative and technical inspection was carried out on 4 and 5 aug, 2017. The inspecting team comprised of COL M.L Sharma (Retd) Addl Dir HQ 9 Corps (AWES), Mrs Vishakha Sharma Principal APS Janglot. The Visiting dignitaries were quiet satisfactory with the functioning of the school specially the academics and administrative aspect

33.   33 Independence day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour and gaiety o mark the event, ultural items were presented by the students. Meritorious students of class XII were also felicitated by the principal Dr Renu Gupta.

34.   34 School organised Inter APS Badminton Competition for boys and girls at police auditorium, Gulshan ground. The 3 day tournament started on Aug 17, 2017 and concluded on 19 Aug, 2017

35.   35 Teachers day was celebrated on 5 Aug 2017.

36.   36 APS damana organised sahodaya school science exhibition.

37.   37 Swachhta Pakwada was held in school from 1-15 sept during which various activities like cleanliness drive, essay completion, quiz painting, poster making, speeches etc were held.


 38. Story telling forms a crucial part in developing childs over all personality. It is an age old tradition followed by parents, so keeping in view Army public school damana organized a story telling session with in the school premises for classes III-V on 10 january 2018.

39. Army public school damana organised BOOK FAIR  from 16-20 January 2018. 

40. On 20TH January 2018, a counselling session was conducted for the students of class XII by ANSH educational consultancy and AUR academy to bring out the best in children.

41.Army public school damana celebrated to honor the Goddes saraswati, the Godess of learning who bequeaths  the greatest wealth to humanity, the wealth of knowledge.On the auspicious day of Basant panchami pooja was held in the school. Our honourable principal, Dr Renu Gupta along with the staff worshipped Maa saraswato for the goodness of school community.

42. Army public school damana celebrates  the 69th Republic Day of school with great enthusiasm and petriotic fervour at the MA stadium jammu.

43. International GK olympiad organised by eduheal foundation was held in 01 Feb 2018.

44. APS Damana organised a three-days  Vedic Mathematic workshop on easy, unique,shortcuts, mental mathcalculations at school campus  on 4 Feb 2018.

45 APS Damana organised the second phase of Prize Distribution on 26 Feb 2018.

46 APS Damana organised orientation program on 21st April 2018 for the parents to know about the teachers and subjects taught in the classes, the pattern for conducting examinations, extracurricular activities and required from the parents.
                                                       Class teachers emphasized upon the pivotal role played by parents in the upbringing of children and  helping them to look into the cases and concerns related to the children.

47. APS Damana  conducted election for Sr/Jr  Head Boy & Head Girl.

48.APS Damana conducted Investiture ceremony for the session 2018-19. In this ceremony the Chairman of the school facilitate the new student council with sashes & badges.
