1.         Army Public School Damana has a glorious history to project.  Bal Kendra was the outcome of the immediate need for a Pre Primary School in the local premises established in Apr 1978. It evolved as a premier educational institute reaching new dimensions and later emerging as a Senior Secondary School.  It is a co-educational Institute with English as the medium of instruction for imparting education mainly to children of Armed Forces.


2.         Army Public School Damana holds the proud privilege of being one of the best schools in Jammu region. The school is running under the aegis of AWES since July 1992 and stands affiliated with CBSE.  The first batch of class XII appeared in the board exam in the year 1999.


3.          The ambience provided by Army Public School Damana is such that it caters to the interest of all – academic growth as well as personal growth led by a team of 64 rambunctious teachers, besides a qualified Librarian.  The School offers three streams viz Science, Commerce and Humanities, at Senior Secondary Level.


4.         Army Public School Damana displays its floral garden with an element of pride along with the herbal garden with medicinal qualities. Big classrooms with Interactive Boards and projectors enhance the mission of the school.  Keeping in view, the present strength of 1832 students, the school is  striving hard to acquire new connotations and has actually helped in mitigating the hardship of the troops   located in and around Damana area so as to provide quality education through multi-faceted facilities like automated library, e-learning,  Technology Aided Learning (TAL), Technology Accelerated Learning (TAeL)  regular medical checkup, coaching for Olympiads, motivational lectures for joining Armed Forces through NDA / TES, transport facilities, educational tours, various Clubs, English Language Lab,  Sports & Cultural Activities and the like.


5.         Name of Army Public School Damana has been re-designated as Army Public School Damana wef 01 Jul 2011 vide Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), Adjutant General’s Branch, Integrated HQ of MoD (Army), FDRC Building No 202, Shankar Vihar, Delhi Cantt-110010 letter No B/45714/WC/AWES dt 11 Mar 2011.

6.         The mission statement was finalized through the interactive consultation with the stakeholders of the School which is: ‘The School will Strive to Provide a Value Driven Robust, Transparent and Safe Environment for the Holistic Development of the Students and to Emerge as a Future Ready School.’


7.         The vision statement of Army Public School Damana aims at ‘Developing a balanced personality to discover new oceans of knowledge and equip the students to meet the challenges of life’.
